While technically true—fiberglass offers virtually zero airflow resistance—it provides zero indoor air quality protection for human lungs.
The Real Purpose of Fiberglass
Spun fiberglass filters (rated MERV 1 to 4) were engineered solely as equipment protection devices. Their single job is to keep large carpet lint, spider webs, and dog hair from jamming the blower wheel and coating the heat exchanger. They capture less than 5% of respirable dust, pollen, and allergens.
