Environmental Factors in Filter Lifespan

Air filters do not load at steady, predictable rates. Temperature and relative humidity dramatically alter both the physical durability of the filter frame and the particle-trapping behavior of synthetic electret fibers.

Prolonged exposure to humidity above 75% gradually neutralizes electrostatic electret charges, reducing sub-micron capture efficiency. Moisture also weakens standard beverage-board cardboard frames, causing unsupported pleats to bow or whistle under blower suction.
